Setting up of a multi-centric study to improve the protocol to take care of the burns and the splashes with hydrofluoric acid (HF).

The historic about the use of several classical protocols (rinsing with water only or followed with calcium gluconate...) shows the disappointing results obtained and especially with concentrated hydrofluoric acid solutions. As regards to calcium gluconate, even if its use is easy, it entails a long, tedious treatment and can not be used in the eyes. Adapted to the reaction mechanism of hydrofluoric acid on the tissues, Hexafluorine® has a doble concept : a amphoteric concept for the acid and a chelating concept for the fluoride. These properties allow to avoid any secondary care, that represents an improvement of the well being for the injured person which is not the case for a rinsing with water. A fast rinsing with Hexafluorine®, thanks its attraction power on the toxic (contrary to water), will permit to treat the entire hydrofluoric acid no matter its concentration and with an practically isothermic. Hexafluorine® has also the advantage to be also adapted to the splashes on the skin and in the eyes.
