Theoretical and experimental valuation of first aid treatments of hydrofluoric acid burns. Interest of Hexafluorine®.
Author(s)
The rinsing with water only is unanimously recognised as not efficient. The use of calcium gluconate remains an interesting alternative even if it is restricting, limited in its performances and generally can not be used in the eye. The superiority of Hexafluorine® as regards to its absorption power and its action mechanism, proves that it regulates the calcemia rate thanks to different animal experiments and several testimonies about accidents in companies. This superiority is underlined with the increase of the hydrofluoric acid concentration.
