14. Can Diphoterine® be used for caustic ingestions?
Diphoterine® is being studied for decontamination of caustic ingestions in a pig model. Preliminary data indicate that it can be efficacious in this setting. It is not currently recommended for this purpose in humans. Diphotérine® is non-toxic as the oral LD50 is greater than 2000 mg/Kg.
