For the attention of an Occupational Doctor

Dear Colleague,

The products from the PREVOR company for the skin decontamination after splashes with acids, bases and solvents represent for the moment the very best of on the market. As amphoteric solutions, they are able to inactivate H+ and OH- ions, in a very short time and with small quantities of solution. There is no liberation of heat during this absorption, no crystal creation, when it is possible in case of the use of phosphate buffer solutions. There is no significant contra-indication, nor complications after the use of PREVIN.

That is the reason why PREVIN must be available in sufficient quantity where the risk of cutaneous splash with acids, alkalis, or solvents is located. From the Portable DAP for the maintenance and drawing off staff etc… to the shower for the entire body, the PREVOR company proposes an excellent material which permits to cover, from a strategic point of view, the wide range of possible accidents.

According to the §2 DU UVV 109 standards, these solutions are declared as first aid material, and are entirely in accordance with the technical, medical and hygiene rules. It entails the obligation for the company to put this material at the employees disposal and also to inform the user of the solution about its indications. It brings us back to the paragraph about the advice duty of the Occupational Doctor described in the §3 AsiG.

Thanks to several visits at PREVOR company located in France, I have a very good knowledge about those products. Then, all the pharmacological aspects are familiar for me for several years and following my experience as Emergency Doctor and Occupational Doctor, I am very enthusiastic about amphoteric solutions. As a consequence, you can recommend the PREVIN solution in total consciousness.

Up to date PREVOR products are authorised on the world level for the cutaneous decontamination and are registered in Germany, like for other countries, as a cosmetic. It is then important not to make a confusion with medicines !

Even if it is not still finished, the sale and the use of PREVIN is authorised for the eye rinsing. My positive results are especially numerousness on this point and that is the reason why I absolutely support you on this point !

With this fantastic first aid product, we have today a perfect way without any comparison, that permits to avoid quickly and efficiently the serious after effects due to the ocular and cutaneous contaminations with concentrated acids and bases. Of course, only if a quick intervention can be guaranteed.

Then with this argument it is possible to reduce costs, thanks to a decrease of the clinical and medical care and of the days lost from work. Then if the company you advise considers my opinion as valid, I reckon that no problem will occurred to impede the PREVIN introduction. I would be very pleased of it, in interest of your truck drivers and as an Emergency Doctor.

In case of any question you may have from an emergency or first aid medicine point of view, do not hesitate to contact me.

Best regards,
