Alcoa, which is one of the world's leading producers of primary aluminium, processed aluminium and alumina, was the first Australian company to introduce Diphotérine as a part of an on-going strategy to prevent chemical burns. Diphotérine was successfully implemented and tested a few years ago in some of the Alcoa refineries in the Atlantic region and introduced for the first time in 2006 to Alcoa's Operations in Western Australia.
This document, extracted from an Alcoa's online newsletter (July-August 2006), relates the first great experiences of Alcoa's Operations in WA with Diphotérine : "I am confident that this initiative will help to move us closer to completely eliminating chemical burn injuries in our workplace."
